August Break: Skin

Skin... I'm 42 years old. Along with very much noticing changes to the skin of my face, I'm also seeing the skin of my hands beginning to change. Skin maturing--more lines, thinning, less taut, dry... When I look at my hands I sometimes see the hands of my grandmother--my Gram--my Dad's mother.

I'm participating in Susannah Conway's month-long community photo project August Break...

when i complained that they no longer were my own 'beautiful' hands (LOLOL!)
she said ... "be grateful you have hands at all. and that they're good serviceable hands!" wow. put me in my place right there.
i've never thought about them the other way since! :)

  4. I'm with the rest, I just see Tracy's beautiful hands! I know what you mean though. I am really noticing a difference in mine these past few months. The skin just seems looser. But it's not how they look that matters, but how they serve others. You are a treasure. Love you much. xoxo

  5. I love the look of hands getting older. They have already done so much for us and it is something to be proud of! Until not so long ago, I thought my hands were ugly, but I cherish them now, realizing how important certain things are in life. And that it is the things they do that make them so beautiful!
    Love your hands!
