The Holy Cross

Today is the very beautiful, very special Feast Day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The Cross is the sign, the promise, of the our life in Jesus. We daily take up our own cross to be united to the great sacrifice of Christ in the hope of everlasting life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

"If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." --Luke 9:23

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You. Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world!

  1. This has made me think about what other crosses we take up in life. What responsibilities do we shoulder? Where are our talents and energies best used?

    1. The Cross... one can't help but think of all one's crosses one bears. Each day is a journey, carrying our cross/crosses as best we can. I like your thought on tuning into our talents and energies. How can we carry best? What can we offer? How to use the best of ourselves, and especially in service to God and others. Taking a moment to consider these things, can make a different in a day, in our walk of life and faith!

  2. We do all bear a lot of crosses, don't we? This discussion gives one something to ponder!

    1. It does, doesn't it, Jeanie? So many crosses... and sometime many in the course of one day! I read something beautiful not long ago, the gist was that God would't take us down a path He hadn't been down Himself. :)

  3. As true sisters in Christ; I loved reading of this celebration. I loved the scriptures you shared. I know that the Savior lives and loves us all and that he died that we might live again. Thanks for the link to the history of the cross.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs today!

  4. I love it when you share about your faith Tracy. I am not a catholic, but I have a rosary and I love to hold it when I pray. It is very similar to yours. Thanks for all that you share. Love you so much. xoxo

  5. Hi, Marie! I can imagine how much comfort you feel even just holding a Rosary. Very much I feel the same way--just holding it. Praying the Rosary is a great highlight of the day! :) God Bless you, my friend!
