Our Charlie... remembered

About a year ago, we very sadly lost our sweet fur-boy Charlie to cancer... He was 16 years old, and had a good, long, love-filled life with us. What a JOY he was--we were blessed to have him! His spirit is VERY much still in our home, and he lives in our hearts always. We talk about him all the time. And we're pretty sure that, along with God, Charlie had a hand--or a paw!--in us finding our Luna...

So in this month of counting blessings...  gratefully remembering the many, happy years with our Charlie. And thankful for happy years ahead with our Luna...

  1. Beautiful memories of your much loved Charlie. Pets bring us so much love and trust and blessings into our lives, more than we realise I think. Give Luna an extra pat from me too!

  7. I popped over here from Anne's blog and am so glad I did. I love your place :)

We're mourning the loss of a beloved pet too - our dog Sophie died yesterday. She was 14.5 yrs. A good long life but she'll be so missed!

Your Charlie looks very much like our ginger cat Mila. I'm sorry for your loss - but glad you have Luna now -she looks like a sweetie!

  8. Oh my sweet friend; I do know how hard it is to lose a precious pet. Since living in this home we have lost our Willie; a cat we had for 18 years. Then our sweet Maltese was ran over and it was awful. She was diffiently my dog and I was so attached to her. We now have our dog Sammy who brings such joy into our lives. He is loved deeply like your Luna. I too feel our lost pets are near. I believe we will have our beloved pets with us in our next phase of life.
I had a miracle many years ago with our Lilac Tree. I did a post on it. I will send you a link to read it.
Blessings to you for this extra endearing post.
Love and hugs to you; my sister in Christ!

  9. I remember the first time I saw Charlie's photo how much he looked like Gypsy and I knew any blogger with an orange cat would be my kind of blogger! And I was right. Yes, I think you had a little "help" in Luna and she has a guardian kitty watching over her. (Lizzie does too, but I don't know if Gypsy is always as doing as good a job! He probably wants to protect his reputation as Number One cat!)

I know that as much as you love Luna, you still miss him terribly but oh, what a big spot he holds in your heart.

  10. I think we all had a soft spot in our hearts for Charlie Tracy. He had mega personality. But then, I have always had a huge spot reserved in my heart for Orange cats. ((((hugs)))) I am sure you still miss him. We still miss our Jess and when we lost her it left a big hole. Mitzie helped to fill that hole for sure, and we love her to pieces, but we still love our Jess also. What would our lives be like without these wonderful furry family members? I dread to think! xoxo
