Parsley and Thyme

This week has been heavy with herbs! I cut and brought in from the garden the last of the tender herbs, and dried them using the dehydrator function in our kitchen oven, which really helped speed things along. Some of the more hardy herbs I've just been bundling up and air-drying like thyme... and lavender. The inside of the house smells lovely, green and herbal!

Like with the fruit this year, the herbs have been so plentiful! It still amazes me, what with the super-hot summer and drought, that we had so much from the garden! God is GOOD!

Happy weekend! :)))

  1. Beautiful! I need to do this, too, before a frost hits. We only have sage, mint, lemon balm. It will be nice as herbal tea.

    1. So nice to see you stopped by again, Martha! I love herbal teas too--and even more fun when mixing your own! I love lemon balm, and it is fantastic in a tea blend. Lemon balm and ginger are great for when having cold/flu. :)

  3. Like you I air dryed many of our herbs. All are pretty much done now for the year. The house smells fabulous when they are drying. I am always amazed at how little it is when they are done. What looks like a lovely big bunch turns into a small container, lol. Love you. Hope you and TJ and Luna have a beautiful weekend. It is wet and rainy here and windy too! xoxo

    1. I know what you mean, Marie... about the big bunches, and then what seems like "small" results to fill a small jar. Although, our parsley grew to the BIG bush and actually gave us a big jar of dried... so not to bad! ;)

  4. It is such a joyous feeling to nurture a garden and then harvest its gifts! The parsley and thyme look beautiful.

  6. I am so happy that your garden has produced so well. Yes, God is good! I hope next year we can have a good garden. We are in a drought here and praying for a good winter to help solve that.
Always enjoy reading bout what you are doing with your garden and produce. You are an inspiration.
Big blessings and hugs for you!

  7. How wonderful that you have a dehydrater function on your oven Tracy! How handy is that! I had a huge dehydrator that I gave away as we had no space for it and I wasn't using it. When I tried it was a struggle to find a space to set it up. Our house is so small. I love seeing the things you do with your garden bounty. I hung herbs to dry, but we didn't really have an abundance of anything. It was amazing to see how little there was once it was dried! Love and hugs to you TJ and Luna! xoxo
